Part of the Traditional Groundbait range
With the resurgence of silver fish fishing on natural venues and commercial fisheries over winter, we have decided that it is time to produce four new groundbaits specifically for silvers.
We have developed these groundbaits in conjunction with some of the best silver fish anglers in the UK including Des Shipp, Lee Kerry, Steve Saunders, Mick Vials, Michael Buchwalder & Will Freeman.
We took a fresh look at the market and decided to produce four new groundbaits all of which could be mixed straight from the bag or mixed with the others in the range to tailor a groundbait for a specific day on a specific venue.
Being able to mix them with each other was of great importance to all of our anglers as natural venues change and therefore the groundbait needs to change to suit the conditions and the methods on the day.
In general to create a heavier mix for slower break down in deeper water use Supercrumb River to strengthen the mix, for a darker mix with less feed increase the amount of Supercrumb Black, for a more active, lighter mix increase the amount of Supercrumb Lake and for a mix which is sweeter with a higher food content increase the amount of Supercrumb Bream, the possibilities really are endless.
This dark mix is perfect for using on the pole or feeder on canals or over winter, it is a very fine groundbait with lots of very finely milled and sieved hempseed that creates a quite slow acting and dormant groundbait with low feed levels that binds well. It can also be used to darken off any of the other Supercrumb Mixes.
This has found particular favour with canal anglers and has amounted to numerous match wins on different canals throughout the UK and Europe.
Steve Saunders (England under 18's Manager) says "this is a great mix for canals because it is fine and doesn't carry a lot of feed you can control exactly what you are putting in. It binds well and therefore whatever you mix with it you can be sure that by feeding a ball it will go to the bottom carrying any feed with it."
Supercrumb Black is simple to mix. Empty the 1kg bag of groundbait into a round mixing bucket, fill a 1-pint maggot tub with water, pour this onto the groundbait and mix thoroughly, then allow it to rest for 30 minutes, during this time the water will be absorbed into the groundbait. Then for best results; to remove any lumps and create an even consistency, pass the groundbait through a riddle and it is ready to use.
When fishing sun and wind may dry the groundbait out a little, to combat this you can cover the mixed groundbait with a damp towel or if it does dry out just add a little more water and mix again.
All Sonubaits groundbaits include a texture and binding rating to help you decide which suits your fishing needs.
This, along with the simple mixing instructions on each bag make Sonubait's groundbaits the easiest on the market to use!
