Just recently I have been using 1 mm fin perfect feed pellets as paste, being small they break down really easily. To prepare them just cover 1 pint of pellets with roughly the same amount of water, leave for 10 minutes and they’re ready.
They really are that easy to do, more water equals softer, less water equals stiffer. I used the latter to win the rover at Whiteacres, on the twin oaks lake.
Since it has been allowed the method feeder has been dominating the results, but the regulars were saying that some days they were backing away from the constant barrage of method feeders. They had been fishing pellet wagglers or the bomb on the same line and feeding 8mm pellets over the top. So, on the gold match on Monday I tried the bomb in the last hour, banding an 8mm fin perfect feed pellet and moulding 1mm paste around it. I ended up in 5th place with a total of 68 pounds.
So, on the rover I caught odd fish on the method feeder in the first three hours, but didn’t feel like I was doing enough to win the match, as I was catching mainly 2lb fish. So, I swapped to the bomb and paste and immediately began to catch 5-6lb fish. My final total was 112lb and 4oz; I won the match and received a free holiday to go back to Whiteacres to fish in the all-winners final, thanks to using 1 mm fin perfect feed pellets as paste.
