Monday – The day was spent preparing for a video shot for Onlinefishing.tv were l would be given my top tips away to viewers on targeting six different species. Watch out for these as they will be appearing soon.

Once l had everything organised it was then a case of loading the car with my bream kit as well as enough food to last two nights and day if needed and once again heading south. Arriving around 4pm it took me two hours to get the groundbait and rods out as well as setting camp before enjoying a hot chilli washed down with a couple of glasses of red. Memories of Thorpe Park came flooding back and l relaxed totally drinking in the atmosphere. The south east wind wasn’t that bad as it was blowing into my face but l took a chance as l knew that the following day it would be swinging to a north east, taking any fish away from the area. As dusk fell the wind changed and l prepared myself for a quiet night, however during the night three modest bream fell.

Tuesday – The early hours passed and as dawn broke l prepared myself for the alarm to wake me up, and in true form the left hand rod ripped off. It was the first of three carp to grace my net before breakfast, not monsters but all welcome, carp of 18lb 7oz, 15lb 9oz and 13lb 2oz.
John arrived at around 8.30am and the rest of the day was spent in sweltering heat, however by late afternoon we had everything done and totally knackered and knowing that the bream weren’t in the area l headed home for an early night and some well earned grub.

Wednesdays – The rods weren’t cast today as l needed to sort out the kit that was required for Thursday nights guiding session.

Thursday – Mark Forshaw travelled all the way from Sittingbourne in Kent, picking me up on his way past, to a small day ticket water situated close to the south coast having a dream fish on his mind, a 2lb roach. The weather was boiling and with at least a dozen carp anglers around the lake we knew that if the roach were going to feed then it would be after dark, and they did just that with Mark catching numerous net roach to 2lb 8drams. At midnight we called it a day, yet set the alarm for a 4am start.

Friday – The alarm clock rang and once again the rods were cast and by the 7am throwing off time arrived we had once again taken numerous roach, my best was 1lb 13oz yet Mark managed another big one, weighing 2lb 3oz which made the long journey well worth it.
