Some blog readers will know that I like to feed something that I call a Ferrero Rocher - which, in laymans terms, is a ball of Sonubaits' F1 groundbait which is then rolled around in a tub of dry, straight from the bag 1mm or 2mm Sonubaits' Fin Perfect pellets!
One of my regular match venues is Bannister House Fishery near Wigan, and here the depth can be six feet down the track. Bannister is fairly open to the elements and gets its share of crosswinds, which in turn, put a tow on the water.
If you drip feed pellets from a pot, the tow can result in the pellets ending up quite a distance from where you are fishing your rig - and that means you'll attract fewer bites.
But if you adopt the Ferrero Rocher approach, you'll get a lot more bites.
So how do I do it?
First get a decent sized bowl and add some Sonubaits' F1 groundbait, dry. Add water a little at a time and mix thoroughly. After five minutes the Sonu F1 groundbait sets rock hard, so you need to keep adding a little bit more water, a bit at a time, and working the groundbait so that it becomes tacky. Note, I said tacky, not a wet, runny slop.
Once it is tacky you should be able to take a small lump of the groundbait and roll it in dry 1mm Sonu Fin Perfect pellets until all you can see is a pellet-encrusted ball. Tjhat's perfect and this is what you should feed.
it will go straight down in your peg and you fish over it until bites tail off, then top up with another Ferrero Rocher.
Simple!
