I’ve been dabbling with the soon-to-be released Sonu Silvercrush Match Groundbait and had a terrific session on a Boston drain recently, bagging double figures of small roach.
It’s a versatile groundbait and I mixed it sloppy and fed small nuggets, laced with a few pinkies, to catch well from the word go when I targeted the Upper Fifth Drain.
I had two top kits set up for my pole, each elasticated through the top three with Prestons Original Blue slip elastic, which is rated a number five.
I had a PB Silver 7 pole float in 4 x 12 size with a string of number 11 shot, for an on-the-drop presentation style, and a round-bodied PB Silver 3 for an olivette presentation with three droppers.
The hooks in both cases were Preston 311s in a size 20. I used .07mm diameter Preston Power hook-lengths.
The Silvercrush Match mixes up well and can be mixed sloppy or firm. A two-kilo bag will sell for £5.99 and these will be available in the shops very soon.
