Just to prove that "The Pons" can catch carp as well as barbel!

The fish is obviously still hungry as it is trying to eat the Pons's Thumb

The new lake record at 30lbs 6oz was stalked in the margin after Chris had dropped some Hemp & Hali Crush mixed with a tin of Sonubaits Hemp in a marginal spot. Returning to the baited area about half an hour later he could see the shape of a large carp feeding on the bait he had put in.

He used a pole float for minimum disturbance and gently lowered in some maggots on a size 12 hook and within minutes the float slipped away and after a solid fight the carp was tamed on 6lbs line and a Korum 12' power float rod.

Not only is this fish the lake record it is also a UK PB Common for The Pons.
