Finally the weather has taken a small change for the better and after the frustrations of the easter weekend I popped down to Westhampnett for the weekend to do some Bream fishing. Over the cold of christmas my mate had caught a double from a swim I had been perch fishing so I knew that the Bream would be feeding now.

The first night was very quiet but that can be the case with these big gravel pits so on the second afternoon I introduced some 5 kilos of 4mm S pellet Feed and around 100 12mm scopex squid boilies. Feeling more confident I was woken around mid night by a single bleep. This carried on for 40 odd minutes before finally stopping. My hopes had risen because there were obviously some bream in the swim giving me line bites as they fed over the bait. I was most surprised to wake at day break with out catching but shortly after the first cup of coffee the bobbin started bouncing up and down. The fish kited right across the front of the swim and I wasn't sure it was a bream. Finally it rolled in front of me of me and Tony netted a propper slab. At 13lb 15 oz it was a great start to my spring time Bream fishing.
