I had such a great time last week at Bury Hill that I couldn’t wait to get back.

A short afternoon session was planed on Thursday. Teaming up with Duncan Charman we didn’t let the bad weather that had been forecast for late afternoon deter us.
After meeting fishery owner David De Vere we picked our respected swims. Duncan was first off the mark as his alarm signaled a bite only minutes after casting out. A lovely fish graced his net and after recasting the rod he was away again!
It was my turn next and after several fish I netted a new PB weighing 8lb 9oz. This is how the trip carried on as fish after fish graced our nets. Despite the poor weather we totaled over 30 fish between us and towards the end of our stay we both got what we had been hoping for, a double figure zander. Mine weighing 10lb 8oz and Duncan’s at 10lb 14oz made for a real red letter day. I hope to visit Bury Hill a couple more times over the coming weeks in search of a bigger one.
