My Dorking team have just won our eleventh Drennan Super League crown - and our eighth in a row - and part of the winning formula at a tough-fishing Barston Lake was the use of Sonu drilled boilies.

Barston was rock-hard and it was a case of fishing for one bite on the Method feeder. We knew that the bite might come in the first ten seconds, or it might come in the last ten seconds of the match, but the anglers needed to be patient and disciplined.
It meant casting out and leaving the feeder out for as long as the angler could manage. Casting too often would spook the fish.
We used the Sonu White Chocolate 6mm and 8mm boilies and packed soaked Sonu Fin Perfect 2mm feed pellets around the Preston Flat Inline Method feeder. The pellets were packed on to the feeder using one of the new Preston Quick release Method Moulds, which are spot-on.
It is a long old cast on some pegs at Barston, and I was fishing at around 105 turns on the reel, which is well over 80 yards. Preston Direct Mono in 8lb was my choice for the reel, in conjunction with a Preston Dutch Master 12ft 8inch feeder rod, which will cast a feeder a long, long way.
On the subject of Sonu's drilled boilie range, if you haven't seen them in your nearest stockist, there are three flavours - Pineapple, White Chocolate and Tutti Frutti. All three flavours are available in 6, 8, 10 and 14mm size options.
The great thing about them is that they are pre-drilled, so they won't fracture or come off the hair, and Sonu include two Korum hook hairs with Quickstops and a Quickstop needle to make them even easier to use.
