This 11lbs 6oz Barbel fell to a 16mm Tuff S-Pellet fished over a bed of Sonubaits hemp and 4mm halibut pellets

With the weather looking very autumnal over the last few days and lots of heavy rain I knew there was a good chance in catching a barbel or two from my local River Loddon.  Fishing a short three hour session after work on Wednesday and after fighting through rush hour traffic I finally arrived at the river.  I quickly deposited some Scented Hemp and 6mm Halibut pellets and gently lowered in a PVA bag containing 16mm S Pellets and sat back to await events.  An hour or so later and after several line bites the tip went over and after a good fight an 11lb 6oz barbel slid over the net.  First time out on the S Pellets and confidence was high.

Checking the weather once I had got home heavy rain was forecast for the next couple of days.  Friday looked perfect and after getting soaked on my way to the river it was all worth it when after depositing more Scented Hemp and 6mm Halibut pellets the bottom rod produced a good bite this time on a 17mm Halibut pellet.  The result was a 10lb 12oz barbel.  A wet but happy angler.
