A brand new groundbait from Sonubaits called Tigerfish is due to hit the tackle shops next March and believe me, I think it will become a massive seller on the strength of the catches I have made using it on the Method feeder.
Tigerfish sounds an exotic name but the clue is in 'Tiger', the ingredients include crushed tiger nuts. These nuts exude oil and naturally-occurring sugar, which helps to create a very sticky, long-lasting groundbait which clings to the Method feeder until a carp comes along to investigate.
And in my opinion, that is just what is needed in the cooler months when you want to cast less frequently but need to know that the hookbait is still hidden away inside the Method feeder groundbait.
Tigerfish has a fishmeal base, too, so it is attractive to carp but bream also love it. It mixes really well and you basically can't overwet it. When you first mix it, it will set amost like a brick but rub this between your fingers and add a little more water. You can squeeze it in your hands until you arrive at the right texture.
Another good little tip is to put a bait tub on your side tray with water in it, form a small nugget of Tigerfish and drop it in the bait box. You'll see that the groundbait mix goes quite fluffy but holds together for several minutes. Just the job.
Look out for Sonu Baits' Tigerfish hitting the shelves in your local Sonu Baits stockist from around March.
I've bagged some huge weights with it while it has been going through a lengthy testing and refining process and anglers will love it because it is simple to mix, simple to use and it stays on the feeder until that tip goes round. Perfect!
