I was invited down by James Armstrong from Total Carp to fish Drayton Reservoir for the day to provide information on how to fish with the Sonubaits.com Monthly Subscriptions offer.

The Total Carp Monthly Subscription Offer
Drayton is a heavily stocked water with the average carp being in double figures. The weather was cold with a very cold north easterly wind so I decided not to put too much bait in as I was only fishing for the odd fish due to the temperature. We decided to fish off the boards down by the boats for a little bit of shelter from the wind.
Because of the high winds I decided to fish relatively close at about 40 yards and spodded a couple of kilos of sonubaits Tuna Spod Mix out in line with a mark on the far side. To the spod mix I added a tub of sonubaits tuna dip and a couple of handfuls of tuna wraps, which was done the night before. Into the empty tub of Tuna Dip I put my hookbaits for the next day so they had time to absorb some more of the Tuna Dip so they would have higher attractant levels.
Bags of the Tuna spod mix were tied up, dipped in the Tuna Dip for extra attraction and cast to the baited area. It did not take long before I had a pick up and after a short battle a low double was slid over the net. Pictures were taken and the fish returned to the water, before the rod could be put back out the left hand rod started to twitch and then started to take line and another fish was on, again a short but spirited fight lead to the capture of another carp of similar proportions. More photos and the fish was returned. Two more Tuna Wraps were hair rigged, two more bags of tuna spod mix were tied up and glugged in the tuna dip and cast back to the baited area. Again it only took about 20 minutes for another carp to find the bait and make a mistake and again the fish was a low double.
The next hookbait to try was the sonubaits Tuna Casters in 11mm, again the spod mix was put in a bag and glugged in the tuna dip and cast just short of the baited area to see if I could get a bigger fish which I suspected to be on the outskirts of the baited area. The rod was no sooner put on the rest before it roared off and after a better fight a 15lbs carp was netted photographed and returned. Two Tuna casters were put on the hair this time in the hope of an even bigger fish and again the dipped bag of spod mix was cast short of the baited area again.
By now the wind was really cold and all the other anglers on the lake who had been struggling had packed up and gone and I slowly started to pack up too, one more fish took the sonubaits casters but this one was the smallest of the day at just over 10lbs. I think the spod mix which was put in before I started fishing had been eaten and the fish had moved away from the spot as there was nothing to hold them there. This was a surprise because of the cold temperatures but I think if I had continued feeding I would have kept the fish there and kept catching all day.
My thanks go to James From Total Carp and David Hall Publishing for a very enjoyable day.
