I fished the new water for the first time at the weekend and absolutely blitzed the place.

Personal Best Stillwater Chub at 5lbs 10oz

First cast I had a huge chub of 5lb 10oz (which in a new still water pb for me)followed next cast by a 6lb tench. I added a few more tench of the same size with a few bream to just under 9lb before I hit the sack. All were caught using sonubaits pineapple flavour on  maggots with a feeder full of the explosive fishmeal feeder mix.
 
Bites were slow the next morning so I set about spodding out a ten feeder fulls of groundbait full of 6mm hali hookers. I swapped the maggots for some sonubaits 6mm oily floaters fished three inches above the feeder and in no fewer than five minutes i started catching some cracking rudd just under 2lb plus some huge tench with a personal best male just under 7lb.
 
I had a go at catching rudd off the surface at midday on Saturday as the bites dryed up and the hot sun brought some huge fish to the top. I kept spraying the pellets until the fish were really compeating then made my first cast. Over the next hour of so I nailed some cracking rudd to 2lb 4oz followed by an even bigger rudd at tea time at 2lb 8oz which set yet another personal best!
