I arrived at Alderfen fisheries in Doncaster late Friday night around 7.30pm and got fshing for around 8.30 my first fish came at around 9.30 and it was not what I had on my list of fish to catch on this session.

I’ve had Rudd to 2.8lb in the past and I knew it was bigger when I saw it in the water and when it pulled the scales to an amazing 3lb 1oz I was speechless.

It was caught on a 8mm oily floater fished popped up of the lake bed around 2 inch's over a bed of Supercrush dark with 4mm pellets and a tin of hemp mixed in for good measure.
