Great news for all anglers who love to target carp in the winter is that Sonubaits have just added a 1mm Feed Pellet to my Fin Perfect range.

When it comes to the cooler months, when you want to trigger carp into feeding without filling them up, then these 1mm Feed pellets - which are selling for £2.45 a bag - will help no end.
I used them for the first time last weekend at Blyth and finished second on an open match with 34lb of carp, all caught on hair-rigged corn and drilled pellets, in conjunction with one of the new in-line Flat Method Feeders, utilising Preston Innovations' new Quick Release Method Mould.
This has been developed to allow perfect loading of groundbait or pellets onto the Preston in-line Flat Method Feeder.
This, in turn, ensures more accurate casting due to the constant size of the loaded feeder.
The release button on the reverse of the Quick Release Method Mould ensures that the feeder is ejected consistently, without the frustration of leaving the grounbait or pellets stuck inside the mould.
So how do you prepare the 1mm feed pellets for a day's fishing? I work on the basis of allowing one minute's soaking time per 1mm of pellets, therefore, a pint of 1mm pellets will be covered in water and soaked for one minute, 2mms get two minutes, 4mms four minutes and so on.
Once the time is up, drain the excess water off them and they are ready for use. Simple enough!
