I have been using SonuBaits' Exploding Fishmeal Feeder groundbait since the turn of the year and I am more than happy with the way it performs.

Winning Recipe: SonuBaits' Exploding Fishmeal Feeder and brown crumb make a superb, all-round groundbait mix.

It is an extremely versatile groundbait, made from fishmeal and ground hemp. In a nutshell, these combined ingredients makes it attractive to carp and to silver fish such as bream and roach, too, so really the one groundbait covers all the bases.

Because of the ratios of fishmeal to ground hemp, it can be mixed either dryish, for use in an open end feeder, or it can be continually wetted and left to absorb water, ultimately forming a heavy but sticky mix that can be catapulted out long distances.
When it is mixed dry, the activity caused by the hemp oil leads to fizzing and a rapid breakdown and dispersal from the feeder.

But if you mix it 50-50 with brown crumb, and give yourself 30 minutes to create the right mix for catapulting, you end up with a groundbait that can carry a lot of inert and active particles.

I recently fished the noted big bream venue, Foulridge Reservoir, in Lancashire, and I enjoyed a hectic few hours sport, taking slabs up to 7lbs, on the bomb.

My mix was a 50-50 blend of Explosive Fishmeal Groundbait and fine pure brown crumb. I use a battery powered drill to mix groundbait and I find that after the initial mix, the groundbait absorbs the water quickly. Ten minutes after the initial mix I add a second quantity of water and spin the whisk through it again for 30 seconds or so.
I will give the groundbait another 10 minutes to 'rest;' and then add a little more water before whisking it one last time. The result is a very sticky mix. I can confidently add sweetcorn, dead maggots, casters, pellets and live squatts, and after forming golf ball-sized balls, I am happy in the knowledge that the squatts will not break the balls open.

So if you are looking for a groundbait that has tremendous pulling power and which is also highly versatile, check out SonuBaits' Exoploding Fishmeal Feeder - I promise, you will be happy with your choice.

Mighty Slabs: These superb Foulridge bream came to the straight bomb and swingtip approach - with Alan feeding SonuBaits' Exploding Fishmeal Feeder and brown crumb laced with casters, dead maggots, corn and squatts.
