I'm doing a lot of my solo fishing at Lindholme this winter and I'm targeting the F1s, Mirrors and Common carp that are the matchwinners on Bonsai Lake with a Sonubaits Fin Perfect banded hard pellet approach.

At Lindholme you have to feed the fishery's own pellets, but you can use your own pellets of choice for the hook.
And I have found that a banded 6mm Sonubaits Fin Perfect feed pellet is helping me to catch my share of the fish, because the Sonubaits Fin Perfect 6mm pellet is slightly bigger than most other makes.
I believe that this enables my hookbait to 'stand out' from the rest of my feed, and can trigger a response from a feeding fish.
I don't do anything fancy to the Sonu Fin Perfect feed pellets. I use them straight out of the bag, as they come, and rely on their fishmeal composition to trigger the carp into having a feed.
One thing is for certain, the fish seem to prefer a hard pellet over an expander pellet at the moment.
Talking about what baits work best in winter, a question I am occasionally asked is what baits work best on commercials when it goes really cold. And my top three are pellets, corn and maggots.
I think it needs to go really cold before corn works properly while maggots will always catch you fish and pellets are also a staple part of the fishes diet.
Stick with these three, keep your fishing simple and catch a few this winter.
