I've just got back from Preston Innovations Woodlands View with an excellent result on my last match which saw me head the board with 128lb 11oz, well clear of the 2nd and 3rd placed anglers who both scaled with some 80lb plus.
I drew the end Peg - Peg 21 - on High Pool and I have to say I didn't really fancy it from the start but after having a good look at it I decided to attack it at 4m to both the right and left of the peg on the shelf with my other line at 6m at the bottom of the shelf in 6ft of water.
I started off by mixing chopped worm with competition pellets which I had first sprayed with an atomiser as the rules state you are not allowed to soak pellets in water.
The rig was a preston Classic pole float 10 0.3g float which I shotted with 6 x No 10 to give a nice slow drop through the water. I coupled this with 0.15 Powerline and a size 18 PR hook.
It was predominantly small fish which made up my winning weight and I caught roach, tench, barbeland orfe steadily through to the end to make the weight.
A great result on a terrific fishery, I can't wait to get back there!
