If I had to choose just one groundbait from the Sonu Baits range to go fishing with in the warmer months, I would have no hesitation is choosing the excellent S-Pellet groundbait.
I don't know exactly what the bait boffins at Sonu Baits have included in the ingredients, but one indisputable fact is that carp absolutely adore the stuff!
Sonu S-Pellet groundbait has been designed specifically for catching large bags of carp on commercial fisheries. It is rich in fish oils, fishmeals, and attractants and has been finely sieved.
Because of the sieving process, which removes any larger particles, it creates the perfect paste and will also create a very inert method mix which is easy to mix and becomes very light in the water which means it will cloud up readily to attract fish to the bait.
But the method I have used it for is simply as a loose, groundbait feed for margin fishing. On venues such as Hallcroft where I have enjoyed lots of success, I mix up a full two kilo bag and time the match so that with two-and-a-half hours to go, I start fishing the margin swims, potting in a dryish potful of S Pellet groundbait every 10 minutes or so.
The cloud it creates sends carp doo-lally, and I target them with a big, visible bait, either two pieces of worm on a Preston PR28 hook, or two pieces of sweetcorn.
The carp swiim into the cloud, looking for something worthwhile to eat, and as your hookbait is the only food item in their path, it is only a matter of seconds before the elastic is ripping out of the pole tip!
By timing how often you feed as I have explained, introducing a potful every 10 minutes, using the largest Preston Kupkit pot, you should find that with 10 minutes of a five-hour match remaining, you should just have enough Sonu Baits S pellet groundbait for one last feed.
Give it a go this summer - and prepare to be be amazed!
