No Not the multi million pound mega horsepower motor racing circus but time to get out my favourite bait of all time F1 and catch a few fish.

F1 is such an effective flavour for most of our favourite species and is suited to both the match-man or specimen angler alike.  I have had good catches of bream, carp, tench and barbel using F1 in one form or another.

So whats F1 got that makes it so effective, firstly pick up a bag and smell it, sweet caramel creamy toffee springs to mind. Combine that with top quality fishmeal and crushed pellet and you have F1. Now mix some up and add to it a good squeeze of the F1 liquid flavour the resulting mix will ooze flavour and be perfect for the feeder, ideal for fishing in conjunction with some F1 soft hooker pellets, last spring I had some good bags of bream using the above method, the addition of some chopped worm and caster kept the shoal feeding all day.

I love fishing the method feeder and the Preston flat method feeder and quick release mould make method fishing so easy. Just last week I used some of the new F1 feed pellets soaked for about 5 minutes in a mix of water and liquid F1, after tipping off the excess water the resulting mix is perfect for the method feeder a banded F1 soft hooker on a short hooklink was the effective bait. To get the fish going in the first place I used a small spod to introduce a few feed pellets and some hemp. A steady stream of turbocharged carp up to double figures completed an exciting days fishing.

I have written before about how effective F1 is for barbel they just love it and when the river is carrying a bit of colour its even more effective. With F1 now available in fibre paste I will be trying a pellet wrapped up in some F1 fibre paste to see if I can fool a wary barbel or two once the season begins.
